Welcome to our program for Middle School and High School students looking to dive into the world of jazz!
The Jazz Forum Student Combo focuses on the transition from solo practice to playing as a group, helping students find their footing in a collaborative setting.
Through a mix of blues and jazz standards, students will work on developing their ear, mastering melodic development, and gaining the confidence and necessary skills to improvise.
Repertoire is selected to appropriately challenge ability level, and give students a head start on material often featured in upcoming state audition/competition cycles.

The next program begins on Monday, Sept 28.
We host two groups, at 4:15pm and 6pm. Private lessons encouraged. Scholarships available, apply during registration.
What Happens Next?
If you register your interest you’ll be invited to an in-person audition at the Jazz Forum before the program begins. If you are unable to attend, you will be able to email studentcombo@jazzforumarts.org with a video audition to for us to review. [Audition materials]

Student Combo Program Details
The 12-week program includes ten weekly classes and two performances at the close of the semester: one at the Jazz Forum and a community service concert.
- Group 1 Class Time: Mondays @ 4:15-5:45 PM
Group 2 Class Time: Mondays @ 6-7:30 PM
Note: Day and time of classes may be adjusted depending on students’ schedules. Register your interest before enrolling. The Program Director will then contact you with more information.
Refund Policy
We have a no-refund policy after the second session.

- 10 classes + 2 end-of-semester concerts
- 90 minute class sessions
- Held at the Jazz Forum
